JEREMY Project
My name is Aliyah, I am 23 years old and I’m currently in the Jeremy Project. Before I joined, my life felt like a mess. I was in and out of the mental hospital, on the edge of homelessness, and my health was getting worse. I honestly thought I was at rock bottom and that life just wasn’t meant for people like me.
But everything changed when my caseworker recommended the Jeremy Project. I can’t even explain how much support and acceptance I’ve gotten here—it’s unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. I’ve learned so many important life skills I missed out on, like cooking, taxes, driving, and even how to manage my health better. The social skills I’ve gained have been huge too, from meeting people in groups to making genuine friends who really care. It was scary at first, but I’m so glad I didn’t give up. The Jeremy Project has literally saved my life. I’ve found housing, gotten therapy, and even started going back to college. They’ve helped me stay stable by connecting me with local agencies, and honestly, it feels like a second chance at life. And it’s not all about the serious stuff either—we’ve done so many fun things like apple picking, amusement park trips, and arts and crafts. I never could’ve imagined having such experiences, and I’m so grateful to be here.
